things you should know...

1) I was at a movie premier Monday night! Though it was the opening for a dumb French movie and I only knew who was famous when their photo was taken by the mob of press. Also, my movie-going experience was interrupted by the event (I had to sit on the ground outside my theatre instead of in the plush lounge and then could not find an exit out of the building!). It reminded me, just a little, of what I missed last December (by a few measly minutes) -- the full cast of Oceans 12 walking down the street to their premier...

2) I joined Facebook. I know, I know...it is classic freshman move but I was starting to feel left out. Though since I don't have an A&M e-mail account, a friend hooked me up with one from OU. If you see my name listed under Oklahoma, know I am not betraying my roots, it was a necessary means to an end.

3) Friday I am getting a new washing machine! This may sound very boring to you, but it is a very happy day for our house. Our old one only works for about 10 minutes, then you have to re-start it...if you forget your clothes get moldy. Not cool.

4) I have officially begun researching grad school / seminary. I have, thusfar, requested information from Wheaton, Golden Gate (San Francisco), and Southern (Kentucky). Where do you think I should go?

5) I am currently reading 2 books: a biography "George Mueller, He dared to trust God..." by Faith Coxe Bailey AND "the devil wears prada" by Lauren Weisberger

6) A few weeks ago I was at the library with an adult friend I am teaching to read. We were in the kids section and she picked up a book and asked me to help her understand it. We sat down and I began to read it, before long a group of kids gathered thinking I was the "Story Time" lady. It was embarrassing b/c I am sure most of their French is way better than mine...

7) I caused a motorcycle accident last week. I was trying to cross a street and I didn't see him coming. When he tried to stop his bike laid down. He was okay enough to stand up and cuss me out in French, so I panicked and ran for the bus...what else could I do? I felt bad for him and thought about it all day...but going back to say "sorry" didn't really seem sufficient.

We must talk soon! It's been too long! I no longer have that long drive in the morn'. But in the mean time, I have heard quite a bit about Golden Gate. But Wheaton is so close to Chicago and I want to live in or near Chicago real bad. I repeat, we must talk soon!

That George Mueller is one inspiring man. I can also imagine you running away from a man cussing you out with that look on your face of "oh no..." it makes me laugh just picturing it!
