a little sip of culture
Traditionally in France, chocolate chaud (hot chocolate) and café au lait (coffe with milk) were always served in a bowl...though this practice is hard to find today in most cafés in the city, it does still exist.
We are doing our part to keep the practice alive by recently purchasing a full set of bowls for our house. It is a fun tradition, and holding the bowl does wonders for keeping your hands warm in the winter!

It does make sense but how did you discover such a thing?
I drank chocolate con leite every day in a bowl in Colombia! The tradition rocks, even in places where you don't necessarily long for your hands to be any warmer ;)
I noticed it more in the South of France when I was down there. I also have my own bowl for hot chocolate that I bought while I was there.
The Mongolians drink their milk tea in a bowl too...I love it! And it sure does help to keep you warm when it's freezing outside! Apparently drinking out of a bowl is a tradition in a lot of places...who knew??
i would like to request the addition of a location for the link to my blog that is found on your page; I live in Dallas, which is in Texas, which is in the United States of America, commly abbreviated 'USA' or called 'America' (even though those from the Central and South parts don't like that) so just because it may not seem as exotic, or because my blog is in a bit of a 'lame-o' rut right now, doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve the distinction of a location. thank you for your time.
While we are on the topic of links to blogs. . .why isn't there a link on your page to my blog? That kinda hurts. Is my blog not good enough for you?
Who is Seth J?
