Pink Martini

"Somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brasilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini."
I have enjoyed their songs for a while now, but seeing them live in concert last night was an experience. This is good music, made by interesting artists. They are based in Portland, Oregon but sing in English, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Croatian (and probably a few more I am forgetting)...just give them a listen, it is a good time.
“One of our goals is to make music which has broad appeal to people, no matter who they are or where they come from. We play the same set of music wherever we go, whether it’s in a small farming community in Oregon or in France or Turkey or with a symphony orchestra...I think each of us wants a hugely diverse tapestry of influences in our lives. That’s what makes life much more interesting. Every day becomes an adventure."

I like the sound of this already. I knew life had to be greener in Paris!!!!! Bring the details..
Isn't this the band that we were exposed to through Denise? If that's the same people, I like!
I got your vm and tried to call you back and it said that my calling card had expired! I was a little irate since I don't remember reading that it could do that. Then I tried to write an email and msn was having issues. So, I know you have something up your sleeve for Saturday but I missed what it was exactly. The only plans I have are to surprise Aicha, a couple of touristy things, visiting the ol' gang and shopping.
Lots of shopping.
Hey Bethany! I was also excited to see you on Ginny's blog! What a small world. So, I'm gathering you have spent the last two years in France? How has that been? You gotta fill me in on that! I am in California now, but may be transitioning soon (back to Texas). Send me an update when you can! It'll be fun to catch up!
